2024 GMC Sierra HD Outworks the Competition

2024 GMC Sierra HD | Concord, NH

The 2024 GMC Sierra HD is one of the toughest and most complete trucks you can buy, with up to 36,000 pounds of towing capability,[1] impressive off-road chops, and plenty of creature comforts. So how does it compare to other trucks in this segment, like the Ford Super Duty, Nissan TITAN XD, and Ram 2500/3500? When it comes to getting the job done, quite well!

More camera views

While all of these trucks are capable of doing major work, none are quite as good as the GMC Sierra HD when it comes to making your life easier in the driver’s seat. The 14 available camera views, for example, make hitching up and maneuvering a breeze. They even include transparent and interior trailer views, ideal when you need to monitor sensitive cargo. Rival trucks don’t have camera views as plentiful or as helpful as the Sierra HD. The Ram 3500, for example, only comes with five cameras.

Superior bed size

If you compare the bed length and width dimensions of the GMC Sierra HD, Ford Super Duty, Ram 3500, and Nissan TITAN XD, you’ll see that they’re all fairly similar. However, by using clever design to maximize depth and minimize the intrusion from the rear wheels, the Sierra HD delivers significantly better cargo capacity overall. The standard bed boasts 71.7 cubic feet of cargo space, and the long bed comes in at an impressive 89.1 cubic feet. The Super Duty only offers 65.4/78.5 cubic feet for the standard and long beds, respectively. The Ram trucks are even less spacious.

Self-driving capability

Hands-free driving capability is a rapidly expanding technology in the automotive world, and GMC is at the forefront of it. The Sierra HD is available with Super Cruise™, which enables you to drive hands-free on more than 400,000 miles of roads across North America. The Ford Super Duty and Nissan TITAN XD each come with hands-free driving options, BlueCruise and ProPILOT Assist — but unlike Super Cruise, neither works while towing. As for the Ram 2500/3500, it doesn’t have any hands-free driving capabilities at all.

Towing when it counts

Most of our customers are looking for a truck that can do everything. They don’t want to have to rely on an entirely separate vehicle to haul their family, for instance. That means a crew cab. They’re also not looking for gooseneck or fifth-wheel hitches that compromise the bed area. And of course, they’re on a budget. That could mean a 2500 model instead of a 3500. Can you guess which 2500-grade heavy-duty truck, with a crew cab, offers the highest conventional towing? That’s right — at 22,070 pounds, it’s the 2024 GMC Sierra 2500 HD.[2]

In this comparison, it’s no contest: the GMC Sierra HD wins. Visit Banks Auto in Concord, New Hampshire, to see it in person and get a better look at its competition-beating features!
