2023 GMC Sierra HD

2023 GMC Sierra HD | Concord, NH

The 2023 GMC Sierra HD is a heavy-duty pickup truck that combines incredible hauling and towing capabilities with everyday creature comforts. Whether you’re towing heavy trailers, boats, or farming equipment, hauling construction materials, conquering New Hampshire’s toughest and muddiest trails, going on a weekend adventure with the family, or simply cruising to work, the Sierra HD delivers on all fronts without breaking a sweat.

Trims, cabs, and beds

There’s no shortage of ways to customize your own Sierra HD. The heavy-duty GMC truck lineup includes the Sierra 2500HD and Sierra 3500HD and both are available at five trim levels: Pro, SLE, SLT, AT4, and Denali. Additionally, the truck is offered with three special packages: Denali Black Diamond Edition, Denali Ultimate Package, and AT4 Premium Plus Package.

That’s on top of various cab and bed sizes to suit your needs. The Sierra HD can be had with a regular cab, double cab, or crew cab. Regular cabs have two full-size front doors and smaller rear doors, giving you room for up to four. Double cabs have full-size doors all around and room for up to five. Crew cabs have a larger second row than double cabs, making them well-suited to truck owners who regularly travel with family.

In addition, the Sierra HD can have two different bed sizes: standard box and long box. The standard box is 79.4 inches and the long box is 98.2 inches. Every truck equipped with the long box is also available with a single rear wheel or dual rear wheel.

Power and towing capability

Both the 2023 GMC Sierra 2500HD and 3500HD are powered by a standard 6.6-liter V8 rated at 401 horsepower and 464 lb-ft of torque. It’s connected to a six-speed automatic transmission and comes with either rear-wheel drive or four-wheel drive.

Both trucks also get the option to upgrade to the incredible Duramax® turbodiesel 6.6-liter V8 engine, which develops 445 horsepower and a massive 910 lb-ft of torque. To handle all of that twisting force, Duramax-powered Sierra HD trucks use a heavy-duty 10-speed Allison® automatic transmission.

When properly equipped, the GMC Sierra 2500HD has a maximum conventional, fifth-wheel, and gooseneck towing capacity of 18,500 pounds, as well as a maximum payload capacity of 3,979 pounds. The GMC Sierra 3500HD has a maximum conventional towing capacity of 20,000 pounds, a max fifth-wheel towing capacity of 32,000 pounds, and a max gooseneck towing capacity of 36,000 pounds.[1]  It can also haul up to 7,442 pounds in the bed.[2] When you’ve got a Sierra HD, even the toughest jobs can seem easy.

Rugged AT4 off-roading

If you anticipate going on frequent off-road adventures, the 2023 GMC Sierra HD AT4 should be the first truck you check out. This is the off-road specialist of the lineup, enhancing the truck’s trail-conquering abilities with standard features like all-terrain tires, thick skid plates, and twin-tube Ranco shocks. Every Sierra HD can handle itself when the pavement runs out, but if you love to play in the mud or need to haul heavy equipment to remote areas, you’ll be glad to have a Sierra HD AT4 you can count on to get you there.

Innovative bed and tailgate

One of the Sierra HD’s best features can be found all the way at the end of the bed. You guessed it — it’s the tailgate. The heavy-duty truck is offered with MultiPro, the world’s most practical and flexible truck tailgate. It can be set up in six different ways, starting with a standard gate that you can open or close at just the press of a button on your key fob. It can also be used as an inner or outer load stop, as a workbench, as a full-width bed step, or even to help you load items up to 375 pounds.

And of course, the bed itself is also worth talking about. It uses roll-formed high-strength steel with 12 standard cargo tie-downs to resist scratches and dents and enhance practicality. It has built-in LED lighting to help you work in the early or dwindling hours of the day. And it has more volume than any other truck in its class.

Advanced trailering and safety technologies

The 2023 GMC Sierra HD comes with a wide array of safety technologies and driver assistance systems that make it easier for you to avoid incidents, particularly with a heavy trailer in tow. Up to 15 camera views enable you to see everything there is to see around you, including the hitch, the interior of the trailer itself, and a transparent view to see straight through behind it.

Other tech like Park Grade Hold Assist, trailer sway control, and digital variable steering assistance give you the confidence to tow heavy loads on roads you might feel tempted to avoid in less advanced trucks.

Every Sierra HD is also available with automatic emergency braking, blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and lane-departure warning technologies, giving you an extra helping hand that can keep you out of accidents.

Luxurious interior comfort

The GMC Sierra HD Denali is about as luxurious as a heavy-duty truck can be. It has a beautifully appointed interior with heated and ventilated front bucket seats, perforated leather surfaces, brushed aluminum accents, and authentic open-pore ash wood trim.

Dual-zone automatic climate control with rear-seat air vents ensures that every passenger remains comfortable whatever the weather. And regardless of cab size, the Sierra HD offers best-in-class head and legroom at the front, enabling you to relax after a hard way of work.

State-of-the-art infotainment

Every new GMC Sierra HD features a high-tech touch-screen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ smartphone connectivity. The screen is a 13.4-inch display on all but the base Pro trim, which has an 8-inch touchscreen instead. This larger display can be upgraded with a BOSE® premium sound system, SiriusXM® Satellite Radio, and built-in navigation. Other options include wireless device charging, a 15-inch head-up display, and rear-seat entertainment system. On the Denali model, nearly all of these features come as standard equipment.
